Cookie Policy
Sea Temp uses one cookie and a few localStorage entries to remember your own choices, plus one timestamp that limits the Stay22 hotel tab to once a day. Sea Temp sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies; in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Stay22's cookies load only with your consent.
seatemp:locale (cookie)
Stores the language code you picked in the language switcher (e.g. en, sk, de). Read on the server when rendering the page so the dictionary loads in your language. Lifetime: 1 year.
localStorage entries
seatemp:units (°C or °F), seatemp:themeMode (light/dark/system), seatemp.favorites.v2 (your favourite destinations), seatemp.search.recent.v1 (your recent searches), seatemp.map.view.v1 (where you left the map), seatemp:legend:collapsed (legend folded or open), seatemp:currents and seatemp:lakes (map layers on or off), stm.hoverHint.coast and stm.hoverHint.sea (map hints you have already seen), seatemp:appBanner:snooze (the app banner you closed), seatemp:consent (your answer in the cookie consent window, kept for 12 months, or 90 days if you declined both) and seatemp:stay22-undertab (when the Stay22 hotel tab last opened, so it opens at most once a day). All of them stay on your device and are never transmitted.
sessionStorage entries
A few entries last only until you close the tab: seatemp:stale-asset-reload (stops the page from reloading itself more than once after we publish an update), stm.checkout.v1 (the widget you configured, carried over to the Widget Pro checkout) and stm_demo_pro (the preview state of the widget generator) and seatemp:consent-region (whether your country is one where we ask for cookie consent, worked out by our server from your IP address and not stored there). They stay on your device and are never transmitted.
Stay22 (hotel map and hotel tab)
The hotel map on destination pages is loaded from stay22.com in a separate frame, and, for visitors from the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, only after they agree to it in the cookie consent window or with the button shown in its place. According to Stay22, it uses its own session cookie to tell which visitor a click or booking came from, plus Google Analytics and Mixpanel cookies. They are set by Stay22 on its own domain, under Stay22's cookie policy – not by Sea Temp, and Sea Temp cannot read them. Browsers that block third-party cookies (Safari by default) block them there too; the map still works. The hotel tab needs the same consent there. When it opens (see our Privacy Policy), stay22.com and the booking partner it passes you to load as ordinary websites in that tab, so the cookies they set there are their own first-party cookies, which browsers do not block; their own cookie policies apply.
Analytics
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and stores nothing in your browser – so analytics leaves nothing on your device. No pageview cookie, no behavioural telemetry and no third-party identifier is set.
How to remove
To clear everything Sea Temp has stored on your device, open your browser's site-data settings for seatempmap.com and choose "Clear site data". Re-visiting the site starts you fresh.
