The interactive map shows live sea temperatures for the whole world's oceans – tap any beach or point for its current temperature, a 10-day forecast and monthly averages. 174+ destinations are also featured as curated beach pages with photos – built for travellers, swimmers, surfers and divers.
Where our data comes from
- Sea surface temperature
- NASA MUR – a 1 km global satellite analysis (NASA JPL).
- 10-day forecast
- The Copernicus Marine (CMEMS) ocean model, anchored on today's NASA MUR reading.
- Monthly averages (climatology)
- ECMWF ERA5 reanalysis, over a rolling 5-year window.
- Weather & air temperature
- Apple Weather.
- Ocean currents
- Copernicus Marine Service (CMEMS).
- Sea ice
- AMSR2 satellite concentration on a ~3 km grid (ASI algorithm, University of Bremen), updated daily.
- Place names
- GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
- Updated
- Sea temperature daily (NASA MUR is a daily product); weather hourly.
