About James Bond Island

Phang Nga Bay carves 400 square kilometres of the Andaman Sea between Thailand's Kra Isthmus and limestone islands offshore, protected since 1981 as Ao Phang Nga National Park. Its signature silhouette is Koh Tapu — the 20-metre karst spire that played Scaramanga's lair in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) — while Ko Panyi, a stilt village built entirely over the water, anchors a Muslim sea-nomad community of roughly 200 families. Sea temperatures hold between 28 and 30 °C year-round, with Phuket airport about two hours away by road and boat.
