About Puerto Vallarta

Bahía de Banderas, Mexico's largest bay at nearly 900 metres deep, frames Puerto Vallarta, where the 1.5-kilometre Malecón boardwalk runs past bronze sculptures anchored by the 1976 El Caballito seahorse, the city's symbol. South of the Cuale river, Playa Los Muertos draws crowds to the Romantic Zone with its pier and beach bars; fifteen kilometres further south, Playa Mismaloya marks the cove where John Huston filmed Night of the Iguana. Pacific waters hold 28-30 °C from July to September, with Gustavo Díaz Ordaz airport fifteen minutes by Highway 200.
