In the northern third of the Maldivian archipelago, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi sits on a slim sand cay inside Noonu Atoll, recognisable by twin parallel rows of overwater villas reaching across a turquoise lagoon ringed by coral. The western shore drops into ankle-deep shallows, while the eastern reef edge opens onto deep Indian Ocean walls patrolled by grey reef sharks, manta rays and the occasional whale shark. Sea temperatures hold between 28 and 30 °C82 and 86 °F year-round, with seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport at Malé in roughly 45 minutes.
