About El Nido
At Palawan's northwestern tip, El Nido opens onto the Bacuit Archipelago, forty-five limestone karst islands rising from turquoise water; the skyline is dominated by 609-metre Cadlao Island, while Miniloc's Big Lagoon is reached only by kayak through a narrow rock gap. Nacpan Beach stretches four kilometres of pale sand north of town, while Las Cabanas Beach sits walking distance from the centre, lined with floating bamboo bars at sunset. Sea temperatures stay between 28 and 30 °C82 and 86 °F year-round, with the dry northeast monsoon from December to May.
