About Baía do Sancho

On the volcanic Fernando de Noronha archipelago, 354 kilometres off Brazil's northeast coast, Baía do Sancho hides inside a crescent of 70-metre basalt cliffs reached only by boat or a vertical iron ladder bolted into a cleft in the rock. Praia do Leão curves along the south shore as a protected sea-turtle nesting beach, while Baía dos Porcos opens just east beneath the twin Dois Irmãos stacks. Equatorial Atlantic water holds 27-28 °C all year, with the dry April-to-September window the calmest for visits.
