About Moorea

Moorea is the heart-shaped volcanic island of the Society archipelago, 17 km northwest of Tahiti, where the 1,207-metre spire of Mt. Tohivea rises between the twin deep-cut inlets of Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay. Temae Beach curves along the northeast shore as the island's only major public stretch of fine white sand, while Tipaniers Beach on the northwest coast shelters a quieter resort cove behind a reef lagoon. Sea temperatures hold 26-28 °C year-round, peaking near 29 °C in February and March; Faa'a International Airport is a short ferry away.
