About Waikiki
Waikīkī occupies the south shore of Oahu, anchored at its eastern end by Diamond Head, a 232-metre tuff cone known in Hawaiian as Lēʻahi and formed by a hydrovolcanic eruption around 300,000 years ago. Central Kuhio Beach sits sheltered by offshore breakwaters that pool calm water for swim schools and first-time surfers, while Queen's Surf Beach below the crater draws longboarders to its slow point break. Sea temperatures hold 26–27 °C from July through September, with Honolulu International about twenty minutes by H-1.
