About Bora Bora
The South Pacific's most recognisable silhouette belongs to Mount Otemanu, the 727-metre basalt remnant of an extinct volcano at the heart of Bora Bora, encircled by a barrier reef and a turquoise lagoon. Matira Beach unspools two kilometres of fine white sand along the southern tip, with a shallow gradient that reaches waist-deep water dozens of metres offshore. The dry season runs from April to October, with sea temperatures sitting between 27 and 29 °C81 and 84 °F year-round, peaking in March and April.
