About Na Pali Coast
The Nā Pali Coast spans Kauai's northwestern shore, where fluted basalt cliffs rise as high as 1,200 metres straight out of the Pacific with no road touching the coastline. Keʻe Beach marks the northern end and the Kalalau Trail's eastern trailhead, while Polihale Beach closes the southern terminus as the longest stretch of sand in the Hawaiian Islands, reached only by a rough four-wheel-drive track. While powerful currents and lethal surf make swimming dangerous, sea temperatures hold between 25 and 26 °C from July through September.
