About Cala Macarella
Menorca's southwestern coast hides Cala Macarella, a textbook limestone cala where pine forest meets turquoise water beneath sheer white cliffs traced by the Camí de Cavalls, the 185-kilometre horseback path restored in 2010 within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve declared in 1993. A five-minute clifftop walk south leads to smaller, quieter Cala Macarelleta; the next cove east, Cala en Turqueta, mirrors the same pine-and-pale-sand template. Sea temperatures hold between 25 and 27 °C from July through September, with Mahón airport roughly 50 minutes by road.
