About Cefalù
Beneath La Rocca, a 270-metre limestone headland on Sicily's Tyrrhenian coast, Cefalù shelters its Norman cathedral – begun in 1131 under King Roger II and inscribed by UNESCO in 2015 for the Christ Pantocrator mosaic glowing across its apse. West of the old town, Spiaggia di Mazzaforno spreads as a quieter family cove backed by olive groves, while Spiaggia di Caldura tucks east of the harbour as a small pebble inlet. Sea temperatures climb to 25–26 °C from July through September, with Palermo airport about 75 minutes by motorway.
