About Villasimius
On Sardinia's southeastern tip, Villasimius gathers around Capo Carbonara, a rocky cape with a 16th-century watchtower that lends its name to a Marine Protected Area declared in 1999 between the Gulf of Cagliari and the Tyrrhenian Sea. South of the cape, Spiaggia di Porto Giunco runs three kilometres of white sand along an isthmus backed by pink flamingos in the Stagno di Notteri; Spiaggia Simius curves a gentler town bay northeast. Sea temperatures sit between 24 and 26 °C from July through September, Cagliari Elmas airport an hour by road.
