About Calpe
Costa Blanca's most distinctive silhouette is the Peñón de Ifach, a 332-metre limestone monolith rising straight from the Mediterranean and splitting Calpe's seafront in two. To the south, Playa del Arenal stretches a kilometre of shallow, family-grade sand; north of the rock, Playa de La Fossa runs busier with a promenade of bars and restaurants. Sea temperatures climb above 25 °C77 °F from July through September, with Alicante airport 50 minutes by road.
