About Ses Illetes

On the Trucadors peninsula at Formentera's northern tip, Ses Illetes fronts a Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadow declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1999 and counted among Earth's oldest organisms at roughly 100,000 years — the reason for the water's clarity. Platja de Llevant shares the same dune ridge on its east-facing flank, two seas a few hundred metres apart, while Platja Migjorn runs seven kilometres along the south coast. Sea temperatures hold between 25 and 27 °C from July through September; Ibiza airport is a thirty-minute ferry from La Savina.
