About Cancún
At the northeastern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula, Cancún's Zona Hotelera traces a 22-kilometre L-shaped barrier island that pens the Nichupté Lagoon against the Caribbean Sea. Toward the southern end, Playa Delfines spreads wide public sand below a clifftop mirador, while Playa Tortugas anchors a calmer northern cove where ferries leave for Isla Mujeres. Sea temperatures hold between 27 and 29 °C from May through October, with Cancún International Airport about 20 minutes from the strip.
