About Playa Bávaro

The Dominican Republic's easternmost tip unfurls a fifty-kilometre arc of coconut-palm-fringed white sand backed by the Cordillera Oriental hills and shielded from the open Atlantic by an offshore coral reef. Playa Bávaro forms the busy central stretch where the all-inclusive resorts cluster behind a gradient of turquoise shallows, while Playa Macao further north remains undeveloped with a steady surf break favoured by local riders. Sea temperatures hold 28-29 °C from July through September, and Punta Cana International airport sits twenty minutes inland by road.
