Ocean Flower Island holidays
Built on reclaimed land in the Beibu Gulf, Ocean Flower Island is a flower-shaped group of artificial islands off the coast of Danzhou, on the north-west side of China's Hainan Island. Linked to the shore by a causeway, the islands hold hotels, apartment towers, theme parks, a convention centre and shopping streets, designed as a resort city.

Ocean Flower Island has developed beach areas along its outer shores, among them Twin Beaches, facing the open sea; check current beach access and facilities before visiting. High-speed trains on Hainan's western ring railway stop at Baimajing, from where a road transfer reaches Ocean Flower Island. Check China's current visa rules before travelling, including any visa-free entry that applies to your nationality. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are the usual way to get around Danzhou, and a rental car is useful for exploring the west coast of Hainan.
