About Sanya Bay
Sanya Bay traces 22 kilometres of palm-lined strand along the southern coast of Hainan Island, China's only tropical beach resort at 18° north, anchored by the artificial Phoenix Island archipelago rising from the water near the eastern end. East of the city, sheltered Dadonghai forms a compact family cove close to the old town, while Yalong Bay unfurls a 7-kilometre luxury-resort crescent considered the island's finest. Sea temperatures hold 27–29 °C81–84 °F from July through September; the local international airport is roughly 15 minutes by road.
