About Tokashiki Island

Tokashiki is the largest of the Kerama Islands, the Okinawan archipelago whose water is so transparent that locals coined the term Kerama Blue and Japan declared the whole group its 31st national park in 2014. On the west coast, Aharen Beach curves 800 metres of fine white sand around a sheltered reef lagoon, while Tokashiku Beach two kilometres north stays quieter, regularly drawing sea turtles into its shallows and humpback whales offshore. Sea temperatures hold 27–29 °C from July to September.
