About Al Mughsayl
On the Arabian Sea coast of Oman's Dhofar Governorate, the shoreline is anchored by the Marneef Cave blowholes, where monsoon swell forces seawater 30 metres skyward through fissures in the limestone cliffs. Al Mughsayl Beach stretches eight kilometres of pale sand below those cliffs, ending at a developed park to the west, while Fizayah Beach lies further on in isolated, cliff-flanked coves toward the Yemen border. The Khareef monsoon cools the sea to 23–25 °C73–77 °F from July through September, with Salalah airport 45 minutes east along Highway 47.
