About Alicante

Costa Blanca's capital sits below the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, a Moorish fortress with 9th-century origins crowning the 166-metre Mount Benacantil and ranking among Spain's largest medieval strongholds. Directly below runs the Playa del Postiguet, a 600-metre arc of golden sand at the city's heart; ten kilometres north, the suburban Playa de San Juan unfolds seven uninterrupted kilometres of strand. Sea temperatures hold between 24 and 26 °C from July through September, with Alicante-Elche airport twenty minutes by the N-332.
