About Tarragona
Tarragona sits on the Costa Daurada where the Roman capital of Tarraco – its 2nd-century Amfiteatre Romà carved into a slope above the sea – anchors a UNESCO-listed ensemble inscribed in 2000. Directly below the ruins, Platja del Miracle runs a kilometre of fine golden sand framed by the ancient stonework, while Platja Llarga stretches three quieter kilometres along the eastern shore. Sea temperatures climb to 24–25 °C from July through September, with Barcelona airport roughly 75 minutes by AP-7.
