About Cannes
The French Riviera town of Cannes has hosted the Festival de Cannes since 1946, when the Palais des Festivals first rolled out its 24-step Tapis Rouge each May. Along the palm-lined Boulevard de la Croisette, the central Plage de la Croisette mixes private beach clubs with public sand, while Plage du Midi south of the Old Port keeps a quieter, local rhythm. Sea temperatures reach 23–25 °C from July through September, with Nice Côte d'Azur airport thirty minutes away on the A8.
