Marbella holidays
Marbella is a resort town on Spain's Costa del Sol, with the Sierra Blanca mountains and the 1,215-metre peak of La Concha rising directly behind it. Its whitewashed old town keeps the Plaza de los Naranjos at its centre, and west of the centre the villas and hotels of the Golden Mile extend towards the marina of Puerto Banús.
Beaches
Marbella's beaches run for more than 20 km along the coast. In the centre, Playa de la Fontanilla and Playa de la Venus lie along the Paseo Marítimo, a short walk from the old town. To the east, Playa de Cabopino is backed by protected dunes, and to the west the beaches of Puerto Banús and the Golden Mile are known for their beach clubs.
Things to do
In Marbella, start in the old town around the Plaza de los Naranjos, then walk the Paseo Marítimo to the port. Puerto Banús, about 6 km west, is the marina of yachts and designer shops. Hikers climb La Concha for views across to Africa on clear days, and the cliff-top town of Ronda, about an hour inland, is the classic day trip.

Airport and getting there
Marbella is about 45 minutes by road from Málaga airport on the AP-7 or A-7, and buses link the airport with Marbella's bus station. Gibraltar airport is about an hour to the west.
