About Porto Katsiki
On Lefkada's southwest coast, Porto Katsiki sits beneath a 150-metre wall of white limestone cliffs – the name means “Goat's Harbour”, from when only goats could reach the cove before an 80-step staircase was carved down. Two kilometres north, Egremni Beach mirrors the same cliff-access geometry but remains partly closed after the 2015 earthquake landslide; further up the coast, Kathisma Beach is the island's largest sand strand, lined with bars and loungers. Ionian water holds 24–26 °C75–79 °F from July through September, with Preveza-Aktion airport about 75 minutes by road.
