About Bodrum

Bodrum guards the entrance to the Gulf of Gökova on the Aegean's southwest coast, the ancient Halicarnassus whose Mausoleum once counted among the Seven Wonders and whose harbour is now watched over by the 15th-century Castle of St. Peter built by the Knights Hospitaller. West of town, Bitez tucks a tamarind-shaded crescent into a shallow, windsurf-friendly bay, while Gumbet packs a livelier curve of sand with beach clubs and gulet moorings just minutes from the centre. Sea temperatures climb between 24 and 27 °C from July through September, with Milas-Bodrum (BJV) airport about 35 minutes by road.
